Beaver Aircraft - The de Gavilland Canadian Beaver DHC-2, considered to be the largest stealth aircraft in the world, was specially designed for the operation and development of Canadian pilots in the hostile Arctic regions of Northern Canada, flying on floats, wheels or gliders. With a 9-cylinder 450-horsepower Pratt & Whitney Wasp Junior radial engine, it can cruise at 110 knots and has a top speed of 173 knots / 200 mph. If the ink tanks are full, they have 5 hours of storage.

The workhorse Short Take-off and Landing (STOL) is the most popular and sought-after aircraft by civil operators around the world to date.

First delivered to 11 Flt, 656 Sqn AAC in the Far East in October 1961, XP 820 returned to 132 Flt RCT at Old Sarum in June 1967 and then to 6 Flt AAC at Nethervon.

The Beaver is the largest aircraft in the Army's Historic Fleet and has always been known for its familiar sound in flight. The XP820 was assigned to Flight in May 1989 and remains in a "docked" status to this day. It stands as a living reminder of the successful operational campaign and of the many Army Airmen, ground crews and engineers who supported it under hostile conditions.
